Why You Should Be Getting Out Of Your Comfort Zone More!

As you continue your time studying at AFTRS, it can be easy to settle into a very repetitive routine. You live your life without much change or thought- wake up, head to uni, do your assignments, go home. And while there’s nothing inherently wrong with that, it’s important to remember that there is more out there!

If we take the time to push ourselves to get out of that routine- that comfort zone- we can learn things about ourselves that we never would have otherwise! Pick up new skills, create new memories, and discover aspects of our personality that we never would have expected to find.

Mental health professional Jenni Tyler says that people who push themselves out of their comfort zone often find that they are capable of more than they believed, challenging the narrative of their life they’ve been telling themselves up to that point.

So if you’re bored of the same routine taking over your weeks (months, semesters…) then think about what it is that scares you most, and consider giving it a go!
