REASONABLE ADJUSTMENTS CREATE EFFECTIVE SOLUTIONS FOR AFTRS STUDENTS

Since the introduction of Reasonable Adjustments, more and more students are pursuing their academic dreams. The proactive approach towards disability and inclusive envirornment at AFTRS, enables student’s to complete the required learning outcomes, whereas once those very same students would have never thought that a tertiary education was a choice.

What are Reasonable Adjustments? Reasonable adjustments (also referred to as ‘accommodations’) refer to the support provided by tertiary institutions for students with a disability or health condition, to ensure equal access to teaching and learning. Students and support staff meet to discuss the types of academic accommodations needed by the student living with a disability, and by identifying strategies, they then design a Student Access Plan that enables them to participate in and complete the courses offered at AFTRS.

Today we speak to the Head of Student Services Annie Wright to learn more about the reasonable adjustments available at AFTRS, and discover how we can work with Annie to identify our needs, design, and implement strategies to assist us to achieve our academic goals. https://www.aftrs.edu.au/students/current-students/student-support/
