National Indigenous Fashion Awards ’25

The National Indigenous Fashion Awards (NIFA) returned last month on Larrakia Country in Darwin, celebrating the best in Australian First Nations fashion.

Now in its sixth year, the event sat in the heart of a week that also featured the Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair and Country to Couture.

Seven awards were handed out, judged by an Indigenous-led panel who look for cultural expression, storytelling, craft and ethics in winning designs.

Meet the 2025 Winners:

  • Designer of the Year: Clair Helen Parker
  • Business Achievement: Miimi & Jiinda
  • Wearable Art: Cleonie Quayle
  • Traditional Adornment: Rena Ngalinggama
  • Textile Design: Rhonda Sharpe
  • Young Achiever: Cindy Rostron
  • Community Collaboration: Jilamara Arts and Crafts Association & Tiwi Artists
