The cost of living crisis continues to hold Australia in its grip.
But, what exactly is a cost of living crisis?
Economist Peter Cearns gave AFTRS FM this definition: “A cost of living crisis is when the cost of things we all need, common necessities like food.. rise faster than our income. This means it becomes harder for people to afford their day to day lives causing stress. Every dollar we have suddenly feels just a little bit smaller.”
As students with little or no income, we are hit particularly hard.
