After touring Melbourne, Tel Aviv, Auckland, Toronto and Miami – it is now Sydney’s turn. The world’s largest exhibition of the enigmatic and mysterious Banksy, featuring 80 original works, including ‘Girl with Balloon’, is opening here in the Entertainment Quarter.
In case you have been living under a rock, Banksy is an anonymous English street artist who has been actively portraying his political messages since the 1990s. He has a distinct stenciling technique and is one of the most well-known, yet unknown, street artists in the world.
The art has been gathered from over 40 different private collectors from around the globe, the largest ever showcase of Banksy pieces. The exhibition is curated by the artists former manager, Steve Lazarides, and while every piece is original and authentic – The Art of Banksy proudly boasts that the entire show is 100 percent unauthorised.
