For all those fashionistas out there, a fabulous little place called SWOP has popped up on Enmore Road, Newtown.
Nestled between The Enmore Theatre and a row of the typical gourmet fare of the area’s merchants, this little gem houses some of the most marvellous finds in Newtown – a veritable treasure-trove if you will, that any walking clothes horse will find much delight in.
Fashion from a by gone era lines the stands, quaintly smelling of moth balls and old suitcases.
From the paisley mushroom pink nylon 70’s jumpsuit, to the suede double breasted, three quarter length jacket and then the ultimate find, a vintage shop staple – the safari suit.
There are shoes, jeans, handbags, cardigans, platforms, sequinned dresses, mackintoshs and more accoutrement than you can poke a stick at.
At SWOP, you can take your outmoded, once loved brown skivvy and either drop it off for cash, or opt for the ever popular store credit, and restock your wardrobe.
For those of you on a Kondo declutter stint, heed my warning. This place isn’t for you, as you’re likely to refill the very bag of clothes you brought in to dispose of in the first place!
