Round The Twist To Receive The Musical Treatment

Strange things happen when Round The Twist receives the resurgence in a way nobody had anticipated.

RGM Productions have successfully secured the rights from the Australian Children’s Television Foundation and have adopted Gary McQuinn to lead the production.

McQuinn has been responsible in the past for Muriel’s Wedding as well as Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, so it will be interesting to say the least to see how the production is realised.

What has been informed so far is that the musical will borrow elements from 26 of the original episodes, all of which were adapted from Paul Jennings’ short stories.

On Mornings with Tom, the discussion was put forth to the audience on who should play which character or who would be likely to make an appearance.

Suggestions such as Geoffrey Rush as Tony Twist, Colin Lane as Mr. Snapper, Benita Collings as Nel the lighthouse keeper and Eddie Perfect as Mr. Gribble have all been coined so far.

But will those come to fruition?

Only time will tell.
