FOREST 404 Creator Tim X Atack Interview Reveals Story’s Origins

Friday’s Mornings with Tom featured a special interview with Forest 404 creator and writer Tim X Atack.

Atack speaks towards how he was approached by BBC Sound to produce the fiction angle of the podcast which already had three strands planned, informative analysis and a soundscape being the other two.

Tim X Atack is a writer prolifically versed in the audio-fiction-verse having worked with staple groups such as BBC Sound, Big Finish Productions and his own founded company, sleepdogs.

Forest 404 is an “environmental thriller” set in the 24th century which takes archivist Pan (Pearl Mackie) on a journey of self-discovery and revelation of her society’s history when she discovers a sound recording of a rainforest.

In the conversation, Atack speaks towards his inspiration of the sound recording based on real-life accounts he has had himself as a sound archivist at the BBC.
