Hurricane Irma wreaking havoc

While Texas is recovering from Hurricane Harvey, an even more powerful storm is bearing down on the United States and Caribbean.

 The hurricane has totally devastated a group of islands in the north of the Carribean. In Barbuda ninety per cent of buildings and vehicles have been destroyed and four people have died.

The category-five storm is currently over the north of Puerto Rico and is heading towards the Dominican Republic, Haiti and Florida. It’s the most powerful hurricane ever recorded over Atlantic Ocean and wind gusts are reaching speeds of up to 360km/h.

Hurricane Irma has blacked out much of Puerto Rico and 900,000 people were without power and nearly 50,000 without water. Fourteen hospitals are relying on emergency generators.
